Pearl's Girl Scout Gold Award Project
9-Hole Disc Golf Course.
New in the Dutch Fork area!
At the Northwest Family YMCA, a new 9 - hole disc golf course is opening this Saturday, the 24th. The grand opening and ribbon cutting will be from 11 am to 1 pm at the Northwest Family YMCA at 1501 Kennerly Rd, Irmo, SC 2906. This event is free and open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 24th.
Pearl Owens, a Senior at Dutch Fork High school, has put in her time and the money she raised to build this course for the Dutch Fork and YMCA community. This course is Pearl’s Girl Scout Gold Award Project which is the highest achievement available for a senior. Pearl states “I am excited to share my Gold Award project, the ‘Pearl’s Path to Gold’ Disc Golf course, with the community. I hope that through my project, families, teens and other groups will gain a greater understanding of the importance of spending quality time together through easy, fun and social exercise”.
Pearl has devoted a lot of time and work to building a fun and entertaining activity for our community and deserves thanks and recognition so come join us at JKing Real Estate to celebrate Pearl and this amazing addition to Irmo!
